This year for "Planting Christmas '08", a holiday Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) project, The Permaculture Group has 3 native species available:

Koa: Currently 4 - 6 ft tall, ideal for Upcountry above 2,000 ft. elevation. Will grow to 60+ feet tall. Magnificent tree. Endemic to Hawai`i.

Koai`a: Currently 6 - 7 ft tall, this is a "dwarf koa", tolerant of lower elevations & drier climate. Will grow up to 20 feet tall. Round in shape. Endemic to Hawai`i.

Ha`o: Current 6 ft tall, ideal for drier climates. Grows up to 30 feet and produces tiny fragrant flower clusters. Endemic to Hawai`i.
